Livestock Records

We offer a full-computerised livestock records package including registering movements, deaths and births. All information is then kept on a cattle record program (Farm Data) and can be accessed immediately at any time. We also update / check herd and flock record books to ensure you are fully complying with all the requirements of the various bodies that have access to your farm records.

Anyone with cattle should as soon as possible check the details held by BCMS of cattle held on the farm or croft as we invariably find errors relating to cattle that have either been sold or died several years ago. To access this facility you should use the ID number and Password supplied by BCMS and go online to their website to check details of cattle on the holding. Please also check the queried cattle and queried movements screens as these errors may lead to penalties in the event of a SEERAD inspection.

We can assist and advise on the requirements of the various farm assured schemes with regard to required records such as a Medicines book, records of sprays / poisons used and maps of burials sites.

A basic health plan is also a requirement of these schemes and we would advise that this is drawn up in conjunction with your local veterinary clinic.
