Information
We are delighted to present to the market an old School for renovation. This school has been used as an agricultural shed for sometime, and the building has been kept wind and water tight. The roof is in good condition. A Lean-to has been added to provide animal shelter to one side of the building.
The School is set in a total area of 0.53 acres of non croft land, which incorporates a walled garden of around ¼ acre. The wall round the garden will provide very good shelter from the wind and would be ideal as either a small paddock or for growing vegetables, etc. Within the walled garden is an old building which was originally the toilet facilities for the School.
There is a static caravan on site which will be available to the purchaser.
Location
Occumster sits on the East Coast of Caithness, approximately 8.5 miles south of Wick.
Lybster is approximately 1.5 miles away and has an excellent primary school, post office, several village pubs, very good Hotel and service station.
Access
Access is available directly from the road to the Schoolhouse.
Planning Permission
It will be the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure full planning permissions are available. However, due to there being buildings on site, planning is not expected to pose a problem.

It will be the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure connection to all services and to install a private drainage system meeting the approval of the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA).

From Lybster travel on A99 towards Wick. At West Clyth Farm turn left. Follow the road past Black Hill, over Bridge of Achavar (small bridge over burn). Continue on this road passed the turn to your right and you will see the Schoolhouse situated at the side of the road to your right.
